Thinking Tools
The following are teaching and learning strategies that students at MBS will be encouraged to utilise in inquiry learning.
De Bonos Thinking Hats: these are tools that can be given to students to gain a different perspectives and approach problem solving in a variety of ways.
The focus for each hat is:
Red – feelings and emotions (How do I feel about this?)
White – facts and emotions (What do we know?)
Green – imagination, think of all possibilities (How can we work this out)
Black – the negatives (What is wrong with it?)
Yellow- the positive, rose tinted glasses (How will it help us?)
Blue- the big picture, summing up (What can we do next?)
Thinkers Keys: these are tools that can be given to students to promote different thinking including;

Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy: These tools promote higher order thinking including;
Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis, Evaluating, Creating.
